Online Brands Gross Merchandise Value Worth 224Cr In Q1 2022: Report

Admitad Affiliate unveiled its Q1 results highlighting the major shift in demand for various new segments among the consumers and approaches to acquiring customers among marketers. With the total Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) touching 224 crore, the report provides an in-depth understanding of the categories that boomed along with the top traffic sources and platforms that drive customers to the brands. 

With offices resuming, consumers are keen to buy apparel, footwear, and more. The hybrid working module is one of the biggest factors in the rising demand for electronics and durable devices. Ecommerce, as always being the king, topped the chart with Electronics & Household, Marketplace and Apparels, Footwear and Accessories being the top 3 categories with GMV 72 crore, 65 crore, and 31 crore respectively. 

A few of the brand affiliate programs that performed well were: Flipkart, Boat Lifestyle, and RelianceDigital making them the top campaigns for this quarter. Moreover, with the increase in demand for electronics and gadgets, the demand for software also grew, thus helping online services acquire the second position with software and online education programs leading the way with GMV 14 crore and 69 lacs respectively. Magzter and Unacademy affiliate programs secured the top affiliate program for this quarter.

As per the analysis, the travel industry has shown unexpected and immense growth this quarter. With the mandatory lockdown being lifted up, consumers were too excited to explore the outer world once again. As a result, flights and hotel categories saw an upward trend in the number, with GMV 7.5 crore and 14 cr respectively, where Cleartrip and Emirates affiliate programs secured the top campaigns for this quarter.

Neha Kulwal, Country Manager, Admitad India said “ We have done a great business this quarter and are expecting to touch a greater milestone by the end of the year. We have onboarded some well-known brands (40) this quarter, where some of the brands are working exclusively with us. Lately, we observed the demand for travel among consumers and we are expecting this industry to grow even bigger with time. Also with the IPL season in full swing, we are expecting a good revenue from the gaming segment with brands participating to market themselves during this time”.

With everything revolving around online shopping, it is obvious that traffic sources have gained massive popularity among consumers. Starting from cashback and coupons to loyalty programs, these traffic sources have shown great potential in converting the audience as the final customer and pushing users to the end of the sale funnel. The major contribution was led by cashback and coupon sites with 30% and 15% respectively. Telegram as a traffic source has done exceptionally well and grew up to 12%.  Not to forget social networks and affiliate stores also contributed with 15% each respectively. 


Admitad India has expanded its business arms as a global IT company and is coming up with new revenue-generating products for all online platforms to increase their chances of monetising through various channels.
