Shares Of Vels Film International Gets Listed In NSE: Sources

Vels Film International becomes the first from the film industry in recent times to list its shares on the National Stock Exchange

Tamil film production house, Vels Film International, has listed its shares on the National Stock Exchange. The company has been listed its shares on Wednesday, 22 March for trading.

To celebrate this, a grand listing ceremony was organised at a hotel in Chennai.

The Head of the South Zone of NSE Gowrishankar presided over this important ceremony.

The listing ceremony has the presence of Vipin Agarwal, Managing Director,  Khambatta Securities, Mumbai who is the lead manager for the IPO, Sundarrajan, SRBR Associates, statutory auditors of Vels Film International, Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, Managing Director of Vels Film International, Ashwin Kumar, executive producer of Vels film International and Dr. Preetha Ganesh, director, Vels Film International. 

The other personalities present for the occasion were actors Sarathkumar, Jayam Ravi, Vikram Prabhu, Jiiva, Aari Arjunan, Aarav, and Prasanth, and the leading director-actor Sundar C., Perarasu, R. V. Udhayakumar, R. K. Selvamani, Gaurav Narayan, and actress Sangeetha Krish. Directors Gokul, A. L. Vijay, and Tamil Nadu Distributors Association Official Tirupur Subramanian also participated.

All the participants conveyed their appreciation and greetings for the event and exemplary efforts of Vels Film Private by ringing the bell kept on center stage. 

Dr. Isari K. Ganesh addressed the gathering. He says, "My greetings to all participants from different segments—industry, education, and the film industry. I wish to record my gratitude to all for gracing this occasion of the inauguration of our participation in the stock exchange. In those beginning years, Vels was known as the Vels Education Trust."

"When I was young, my father Late Ishari Velan used to take me along with him for the shooting of the Tamil movie of Dr. M G R- ‘Rickshakaran. My association with the Tamil film industry started from there, almost 45 years ago. When I was studying in the 2nd year of my graduation at Pachaiyappa’s College, I produced a movie named 'Vaakkumoolam' in 1984–85," he adds.

Dr. Ganesh also mentioned that on the very first day of listing the company's shares, there is a huge demand for buying shares.
